(UNION COUNTY)--Congratulations to Jamel Holley, who was chosen to fill the Assembly seat vacated by Sheriff Joe Cryan.  Reproduced below is a message from Holley:
What happened last night is something I will never forget. Thanks to your support and encouragement, I was officially chosen by the elected members of the Union County Democratic Committee from Elizabeth, Hillside, Union and Roselle to represent them in the State Assembly. I am honored to be entrusted to serve as your voice in Trenton, and will get busy fighting for the progressive issues and causes we all care about so much.

I am incredibly grateful to the amazing leadership of our Democratic Party for having so much faith in me; people like Chairman Jerry Green, Senator Ray Lesniak, Elizabeth Mayor Chris Bollwage, Sheriff Joe Cryan, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and so many more who have supported me not just recently, but from the very beginning of my career in public service.

While I will be taking office soon, our work is not done -- I will be running for election to the full two-year term in the June 2015 Democratic Primary and need your continued support to make sure we finish what we have started. You will be hearing much more from me over the coming months as I travel the district meeting more and more of my neighbors listening to your concerns, hopes and dreams.

I pledge to work tirelessly to repay the faith and confidence you have bestowed upon me. I will never forget this moment.

Let's Go!
